Does MCFI Commercial Services sell packaging supplies?

No.  MCFI Commercial Services is a subcontract packaging company and uses bags, shrink wrap, blisters, blister cards, stretch film and many other supplies in its manufacture of products.  MCFI Commercial Services uses these supplies but does not sell them unless they are part of a turnkey finished product.   If you distribute or sell these supplies, call MCFI Commercial Services.   MCFI Commercial Services could become one of your better customers.

What is the extent of MCFI Commercial Services' co-packing experience?

MCFI Commercial Services Manufacturing has provided packaging and assembly services for the past 30 years. It would be difficult to present a product, package, or container that MCFI Commercial Services has not already worked with. MCFI Commercial Services has a long history with primary vendors who represent an additional level of expertise that can be applied to a packaging or assembly challenge. Does MCFI Commercial Services manufacture packages?

No. MCFI Commercial Services staff are prepared, however, to assist you with your package design. MCFI Commercial Services has supplier relationships with some of the most experienced and qualified marketing and materials design houses in the packaging industry. MCFI Commercial Services can respond to most questions about package design. MCFI Commercial Services can also bring in an expert firm that specializes in one or more aspects of your packaging needs, e.g., design, structure, layout, copy, color, function, or other feature. MCFI Commercial Services does not print cards, make blisters, extrude bags, blow mold containers, die-cut inner-pak boxes, and/or manufacture other raw materials that comprise an award winning package. MCFI Commercial Services can help prevent making a packaging design mistake if engaged early in the design process.

Is MCFI Commercial Services' equipment efficient?

MCFI Commercial Services utilizes equipment that would be classified as "moderate-to-high speed" and is efficient within that level of service. This classification is generally utilized by packagers that have to be versatile with middle range volumes with ability to make inexpensive and quick change-over at the lowest cost possible. MCFI Commercial Services can present equipment that would be classified the next step upward, strictly known as "high-speed;" such equipment is typically dedicated to one type of package and often requires dedicated tooling and fixtures. The equipment that MCFI Commercial Services utilizes is well known within the packaging industry and is recognized for its quality.

Can MCFI Commercial Services get enough workers?

Ramp-up for standard packaging and assembly jobs can occur within hours with the existing workforce. MCFI Commercial Services is easily accessible from most areas of Milwaukee and can add a workforce of hundreds of employees within 24 hours if necessary.

Can MCFI Commercial Services offer "high speed" packaging lines?

MCFI Commercial Services can set-up or help you set-up a dedicated "high speed", fully automated packaging and assembly line. Such lines are generally justified by larger volumes and longer runs. MCFI Commercial Services has the physical capacity (docks, storage, staging, mechanical means) to accommodate such equipment. Resources necessary to design and assemble bagging, blistering, filling, or other fully automated packaging systems are ready at hand.

How long would it take for MCFI Commercial Services to install a dedicated "high speed" packaging line?

Fully automating a process requires design, tooling, and machine assembly time. With appropriate samples of the product and firm commitments in hand, designing a production process with its requirement for fixtures and tools may take a day or two. Building the fixtures and tools would likely take two weeks. Assembling the production line with the necessary transportation, build-outs, and other supports would likely take an additional week or two. Adding test runs, customer approvals, and final adjustments, four weeks from start to finish is a probable and reasonable start-up period.

Does MCFI Commercial Services have a quality assurance program?

Yes! MCFI Commercial Services makes sure that its production process delivers product that complies with your quality standards. Before production is authorized, a MCFI Commercial Services manager will document your packaging standards and develop routine tests applied at a precise frequency to ensure that product coming off the line meets these standards. These test results are stored for a period of one year following delivery of your product. Furthermore, a MCFI Commercial Services manager will ensure that you concur with every step in the packaging process. Does MCFI Commercial Services support environmental stewardship?

MCFI Commercial Services is very careful about its management of materials and waste generation. Wherever possible, MCFI Commercial Services promotes the use of recyclable or multiple-use packaging materials. When handling liquids for bottle, tube, and other filling operations, MCFI Commercial Services ensures that waste and/or excess liquids are disposed properly according to environmental regulations.

MCFI Commercial Services is dedicated to the total elimination of waste -- wasted motion, downtime, unusable inventory, scrap, over-production, defects and the like.   All jobs are to be done once and completely with the minimum amount of effort.  All resources necessary to complete the job are available in the sequence they are needed.    Disruption is eliminated through careful preplanning.  MCFI Commercial Services seeks to simplify all processes and balance them without redundancy of movement or labor at any point.   We know of no other less expensive way to proceed.

Can MCFI Commercial Services recommend ideal packaging?

MCFI Commercial Services does not sell products into your markets; you are the expert on what your market expects in package design. MCFI Commercial Services does have experience with extremely successful packaging designs and can help you analyze your design. Is your package cost effective? Does it display the product correctly? Is it protective of the product’s quality? Does the design appeal to the consumer? How does the package compare to others that are successful? Does your package add value to the product? Does your package distinguish your product in the market? Is there one design or process change that could increase your sales by 5%, 10%, 20%?

Will MCFI Commercial Services accept customer supervision of the production process?

Yes. If you require your production, accounting, inventory control or quality assurance staff to participate in the manufacturing of your product, they are more than welcome to take part in the MCFI Commercial Services operation during your run. MCFI Commercial Services will provide whatever supports needed to accommodate their presence.

Does MCFI Commercial Services provide turn-key services?

Yes. MCFI Commercial Services is prepared to purchase all materials and deliver a finished product to a customer on a turn-key basis. Turn-key services require a special contract that ensures that MCFI Commercial Services inventory that is dedicated to the product and cannot be used with other products will be purchased by the turn-key customer. Turn-key services may require other assurances as well to protect MCFI Commercial Services from eventual inventory write-offs. These assurances may include letters of credit, deposits, and other forms of investment risk-protection. Any MCFI Commercial Services-purchased inventory which could become obsolete, unusable, or devalued should product sales fall short of inventory consumption, should the customer abandon the product, or should the customer cancel the contract with MCFI Commercial Services and move elsewhere will require these protections.

Does MCFI Commercial Services provide fulfillment services?

Yes. MCFI Commercial Services is prepared to ship finished product directly to your customers both on an item-by-item basis as well as on a larger-unit basis (pallets, LTL’s, full truckloads). MCFI Commercial Services has protective caging, racking and palletizing capability that permits safe storage of your finished goods awaiting shipment. MCFI Commercial Services also has shipping software to properly prepare Packing Slips, Bills of Lading, Shipping Labels, Bar Code Labels and other documents that are required by a full scale fulfillment service.
